1. What We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide the service:

2. Your Audio Files

We take the privacy of your music seriously:

• Encrypted in transit: All file uploads use HTTPS/TLS
• Access-isolated: Your files are linked to a session token. Other users cannot access them
• Never shared: We do not sell, license, or share your audio with third parties
• Not used for training: Your files are not used to train AI models

3. Cookies & Local Storage

ScribeNoter uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to store your session token. This keeps your transcriptions accessible across page reloads. No third-party tracking cookies are used.

4. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of third-party services to operate ScribeNoter:

• Render — hosting and infrastructure (US-based)
• Neon — database hosting (US-based, encrypted at rest)
• Google Fonts — font delivery (fonts.googleapis.com)

We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or behavioral analytics platforms.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Delete your transcriptions at any time using the "New Upload" button, which resets your session
• Request data deletion by emailing us at hello@scribenoter.com — we'll delete your files and any associated data within 7 days
• Ask what we have — same email, same response time

6. Data Retention

Audio files and transcription data are retained as long as your session is active. Inactive sessions and their associated data are automatically purged after 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

ScribeNoter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
